Use of Qualified Statistical Methods

Discrete Choice Experiment (DCE) and Delphi Consensus

Calibra promotes the use of the Delphi Method to build consensus and the Discrete Choice Experiment (DCE) to understand the preferences of different stakeholders in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector – patients, clinicians, payors, hospital pharmacists – with the aim of:

  • Understanding and quantifying preferences regarding treatments and therapeutic pathways
  • Improving adherence to therapies
  • Developing personalized therapies
  • Defining therapeutic pathways based on expressed preferences
  • Comparing preferences among stakeholders (clinicians, patients, payors, pharmacists)
  • Segmenting patients and clinicians to develop targeted activities
  • Providing AIFA and other regulatory bodies with quantitative data on the preferences of different stakeholders
  • Developing Composite Indices to measure the effectiveness and impact of diseases
  • Developing and validating psychometric scales and Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs)
  • Defining clinical endpoints based also on patient preferences
  • Digitizing the application of DCE through Decision Aid Tools supported by Artificial Intelligence
  • Contributing with these studies to better management of rare diseases

Digital Innovation at the Service of Patients

Technological tools for person-centered medicine

  • Development of digital applications that allow patients to express their preferences before their medical visit
  • Integration of preferences into the doctor-patient relationship
  • Support for the personalization of the diagnostic and therapeutic pathway

Valorization and Publication of Results
